We can't believe the day is finally upon us...Liz and I have been planning this trip for at least 6 months now. Fueled by a desire to see as much of the US as we can during our summer break, we began plotting our route over the winter, dreaming of warm beach days and visiting friends and family on the West Coast.
Getting ready is in itself an Odyssean journey. Through Wegmans. How many granola bars will we actually eat in 3 weeks? Will Liz fall back into a peanut butter addiction? Why are travel sized bottles of various products so appealing?
Also, a very friendly Trader Joe's employee chatted us up for about 15 minutes on the topic of road trip playlists. Among his suggestions were two absolute gems: Michael Bolton's cover of Otis Redding's "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay", and Sammy Hagar's "I Can't Drive 55". #hilarity

Anyway, our adorable bluish-purple CRV (christened "Lil Blurps") is ready to roll, and hopefully, so are we.
